Girls are stuck in this mindset that they need to be victims to fit their part in the gaming society, but female gaming is more accepted than it ever has been. In 2014, The Guardian posted an article that talks about how 52% of gamers are now female. So why is it women still feel the need to defend themselves as female gamers?
